Description

This sword is a replica of Kochou Shinobu Stinger Nichirin Katana. Shinobu uses a heavily modified Nichirin Blade, it is the same as any katana from the handle to slightly above the tsuba, but above that, the weapon loses its blade and is replaced by a rod. It ends in a needle-like tip, resembling an insect's stinger. The "stinger" is designed for injection of Wisteria poisons into Demons. Shinobu's katana's tsuba is designed to bear resemblance to a four-petaled flower, trimmed with orange.

Swordsmanship style

  • Insect Breathing: A Breathing Style created by Shinobu Kocho, who designed it to compensate for her lack of physical strength to cut off a Demon's head. The "stinger" is designed for injection of Wisteria poisons into Demons.
  • Butterfly Dance: Caprice: The user leaps into the air and charges towards the opponent and stings them multiple times with her blade to inject poison.
  • Dance of the Bee Sting: True Flutter: The user dashes at their target at blinding speeds and uses the momentum of their speed to then strengthen a single thrust into their opponent and inject poison into them.
  • Dance of the Dragonfly: Compound Eye Hexagon: A six strike attack with which the user aims to strike and inject their target with multiple doses of poison at the target's weak spots (such as the neck, heart, torso, etc.) in order to kill them with a large dose of poison.
  • Dance of the Centipede: Hundred-Legged Zigzag: An attack with which the user uses their full speed to run a zigzag pattern that confuses their opponent in order to create an opening for them to directly stab their opponent's neck and inject poison to kill them, with the stab's force and power being further enhanced by the momentum of their speed.

How is your sword made?

Sword Crafting In 3 Simple Steps

All our swords are hand-crafted using traditional forging methods that have been in place for thousands of years.

Click the tabs above to see exactly how we'll make your sword - from Design, to Forging, to Finishing.

1. Design

Designed by experts.

First, your sword is designed by experts who've crafted thousands of swords. Our product team carefully plans the combination of aesthetics and features that will make up the sword:

Aesthetics: Shape, design, colours, ornaments and decorations, and fittings to determine the look and style of the final piece.

Features: Practicalities such as blade length, blade width, steel type, handle and scabbard dimensions, as well as weight and whether or not the sword will include a Bo-Hi.

2. Forging

Forged by Craftsmen... by hand.

For the inner core of the blade, impurities are removed and steel created via the smelting process. The carbon level is varied (higher or lower) to get a result of softer or harder steel. The brick-sized piece of prepared steel is then forged until soft, and hammered until elongated. It's then folded over and over until all impurities are removed and the desired shape is achieved.

For the outer part of the blade, the heat/pound/fold technique is applied up to 3,000 times to create a strong blade, which is then painted with a clay and charcoal mixture and thrust into water to finalise.

3. Finishing

Finishing touches.

The blade is then polished and a handle attached. From there, the sword is adorned with desired fittings and ornaments, engraved (if desired) and lacquer is applied to the wooden scabbard to create a beautiful, functional piece. It's then carefully packed and shipped out using our courier service, arriving at your door safe and sound.
