Demon Slayer (Japanese: Kimetsu no Yaiba) is an animated, sword-fighting action adventure TV series created in Japan, which was first released in 2019.
What is Demon Slayer About?
The show follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado and his quest to avenge his family, all of whom except his sister were killed in an attack by demons whilst he (Tanjiro) was in town selling charcoal. Tanjiro's sister Nezuko was changed into a demon during the fight, so his secondary mission becomes to turn her back into a human again.
During his quest to avenge his family, Tanjiro discovers a hidden corps of official "Demon Slayers", who have been battling demons in secret, and strives to become one of them in the hope that this will aid in his training and mission.
The Demon Slayer anime series takes place during the Taishō period from 1912 to 1926.
Demon Slayer Film And Manga
A film was also released in 2020 and went on to become the highest-earning anime film (and overall Japanese film) of all time, grossing over $500 million, passing "Spirited away" which had held the record for almost 20 years, having been released in 2001.
Several printed Manga series were also created, to incredible popularity.
Main Characters: Who's Who In Demon Slayer
Tanjiro Kamado is a kind boy and the breadwinner for his family after his father passed away. He lives with his family in the mountains and, after learning of the slaughter of most of his family, vows to avenge their deaths and return his sister Nezuko back into a human.

Nezuko Kamado is Tanjiro's sister, and was turned into a demon herself during the attack that killed the remainder of the Kamado family. Even having been transformed into a demon, she still shows signs and thoughts of a human, which gives Tanjiro hope that she can be saved. She protects humans as a demon.

Inosuke Hashibara is a traveling companion of Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado. He was raised by wild boars, and wears a boar mask in honour of his boar mother, and his a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. He possesses an extremely muscular and toned physique for his age, is a very skilled swordsman and has superhuman flexibility, among other traits.
